Nukik is pleased to release our 2024-2025 Annual Summary Report (ASR). This report provides an update on our work to get the Kivalliq Hydro-Fibre Link (KHFL) built – a project that will, for the first time, connect Nunavut to the rest of Canada through clean electricity and high-speed broadband.
The ASR is more than a technical document. It’s a tool of accountability.
Since the project began, Nukik has published multiple Annual Summary Reports to keep communities, governments, Inuit organizations, and partners informed about what’s happening, what’s being planned, and how work is being carried out. It’s our way of ensuring that the development of the KHFL is guided by transparency and grounded in community.

In building the KHFL, Nukik is taking the time to understand the land, listen to the people who live there, and document the work every step of the way.
The ASR helps ensure that everyone involved, from Elders and local researchers to ministers and utility partners, can see where the project stands and where it’s going.
It also provides confidence. For those watching from across the country, the report makes it clear: this project is advancing, being shaped by Inuit leadership, grounded in evidence, and moving forward responsibly.
